FAQ - LANGUAGE SERVICES

- How do I obtain a QUOTE?

First of all, we recommend sending translations to Daniel Bodonyi, who is in charge of Helpers Language Services. But whichever e-mail address of Helpers you use, both Daniel and MemoQ, the translation productivity software we use, will peruse the text you send and give you a detailed quote based on the following: having seen the most important characteristics of the text, Daniel will be able to make a decision on which translators, proofreaders, and project coordinators should be invited to work on the given project, while the software will scan the document and give you significant discounts for repeated words and phrases within the text, since those need to be translated only once.

- What does a CONTRACT guarantee?

If you are satisfied with the price, you will sign a contract with Helpers Hungary Kft (either for a specific translation, or for long-term cooperation - for which further discounts are available). Besides the professional guarantee that the amount of work, enthusiasm, and innovation we put into Helpers Language Services ensures, this contract acts as a legal guarantee that you will get the translation done by the given deadline, for the specified amount of money, and in the highest possible quality. Moreover, all our contracts - including the ones we sign with our translators - contain a confidentiality clause to ensure your privacy remains intact at all times.

- What is a translation PROJECT?

As soon as the contract is signed, translation begins. The coordinator assigned to the job sets up the project, that is, creates a translation memory and a term base that the translators and proofreaders working on the text - and nobody else! - can access from all over the world. These provide a working environment in which the translators can communicate with each other effectively and work together on finding the best answers to specific terminological and stylistic questions. The possible solutions are then compared by our proofreaders, that is, the people with the highest linguistic and subject-matter-related expertise, who approve the term that best fits in the given context. This term immediately makes it to the master term base and will thus be used by all the translators consistently throughout the document.

- Why is PROOFREADING important?

Translation jobs do not end when the translators are finished. Experienced native speakers of the target language immediately start checking whether the style and tone of the translation are appropriate, subject-matter experts scan the document once again to make sure technical terms are used correctly, and an additional translator is invited to double-check that there is no mistake in names and figures throughout the document.

- How does the MemoQ SOFTWARE help improve quality?

First and foremost, by providing a working environment in which the translators can communicate with each other effectively and work together on finding the best answers to specific terminological and stylistic questions.

Also, by serving as a sort of 'warehouse' where the best results of our translators' efforts can be stored, maintained, and accessed easily and effectively. The result is a translation memory and a term base that are constantly updated and edited to serve the specific needs of our clients.

MemoQ ensures, regardless of however many translators and proofreaders work on a project, that each and every term is translated in a consistent way throughout the document, or even several different documents translated months or years apart.

MemoQ has a user interface that displays the text in a user-friendly format: the translator is aware at all times of where else a given phrase or sentence appears in the text - besides, the original and the translation are always placed next to each other to make proofreading easier and more effective, too.

- How does language technology help REDUCE PRICES?

Language technology helps us give our clients value for money in a very simple way: it improves communication among translators and contributes to better quality by making translation less work-intensive at the same time.

But isn't this a bit of a contradiction? After all, a good translation, invariably, is the result of the hard work of highly qualified individuals. Moreover, it is a tenet of Helpers Language Services that our select team of translators and proofreaders be paid according to their abilities.

As a translation agency, our role is not merely to find the best translators for a particular job and coordinate their work, but also to combine human creativity with language technology and thus take some weight off the shoulders of our translators. Continuous feedback, an ever-growing terminology "warehouse", and assistance from fellow team members make our team more efficient and translation more cost-effective. Moreover, the MemoQ translation productivity software we use will give you significant discounts for repeated words and phrases within the text so that ultimately we can afford to charge you less and give you more at the same time.

- How about TIGHT DEADLINES?

When it comes to tight deadlines, the team at Helpers Language Services is in the groove. In fact, we regularly outperform the average capacity of translation agencies by 2 to 3 times just counting the daily news translations we do for our corporate clients. Language technology, rigorous recruitment, and flexible schedules ensure that our top translators and proofreaders give their best performance when they translate for our clients.
